Job description
The Manufacturing Technician (MT) role is to document, develop and troubleshoot manufacturing processes driving continuous improvement (CI) to impact productivity including Quality and On-Time Delivery. Real-time problem resolution so it never happens again. Use tools and processes consistent to identify creative solutions to support manufacturing the way it ought to be.

Responsibilities:
Investigate and implement ingenious process improvements of both manufacturing and assembly flows to directly impact the productivity of the LOPL.

Seek to use visual controls in a way to effectively communicate manufacturing and assembly process improvements and project status to all team members.

Manage time effectively to complete PD goals on time while also tasked with the daily challenges/opportunities of real time problem solving in a fast-paced operational environment.

Support a culture of CI and continuously demonstrate a want for the TBS Tools through active use of:

Standard Work

Single Piece Flow

Visual Management/ Controls

5 Why and Real Time Problem Solving

Poke Yoke Error Proofing

Percent Load Charts

SMEDs

Kaizens

Actively participate in the Lean Product Development Process (Manufacturing Bridge, Impact Matrix, LWWPP).

Assist the LOPL through the creation and use of percent load charts to ensure staffing supports the takt time.

Under the direction of Policy Deployment, improve operational processes by bringing TBS tools to traction

Troubleshoot and support all real time manufacturing issues through root cause analysis followed by implementing countermeasure to ensure issues do not reoccur.

Design and prepare drawings of modifications to existing equipment, fixtures and tools.

Design fixtures (to facilitate single minute exchange of dies) and material handling devices (to support flow and linkage) that comply with all relevant regulatory requirements.

Support projects that achieve the intended impacts on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory (SQDCI) improvements for the line of product.

Assign priorities to tasks/ assignments so they are completed within the designated time-frame.

Programming CNC machines (G-Code Specific).

Create processes that meet ergonomic and environmental requirements and policies.

Demonstrates excellence in completion of all other duties as assigned

Performs other related assignments as directed

Qualifications:
Education Requirements / Certifications:
3+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically CNC machining equipment

Associate Degree in Industrial Technology, in similar field or equivalent work experience.

Experience in CAD and CAM software required to create process prints, design tools, fixtures, and gauges. (Solidworks, AutoCAD, MasterCAM preferred)

Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to use basic measuring tools.

Ability to independently manage and complete projects

Forward thinking and possesses the ability to develop, document and implement systems and procedures that result in increased manufacturing effectiveness

Ability to communicate information effectively through oral and written presentation.

Proficient use of a personal computer and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Physical Requirements:
Desk located in the shop with exposure to noise, heat, cold, fumes, and chemicals

Ability to stand, sit, and walk for long periods; reaching; pushing; pulling

Medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently.

Close visual acuity to create/read schematics, drawings and/or a computer screen.

Can convey detailed or important spoken instruction to others accurately, loudly and quickly (overproduction noises)
