What You’ll Do
We have an exciting new position for an energetic, self-motivated professional with training experience that can integrate that experience into a heavy industrial manufacturing setting. The Manufacturing Training Specialist will help produce instruction manuals and standard operating practices, as well as edit existing technical documents, and provide key support to plant management in the development, implementation, and maintaining of training initiatives and job specific training programs. This person will work to support the company’s ongoing efforts to build a more balanced and sustainable training program for employees within the plant.
- Work with Plant Managers and other department supervisors in developing and executing Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents and onboarding programs for newly hired employees
- Observe plant workers to identify a comprehensive training program for manufacturing positions throughout the plant
- Responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining comprehensive training content using innovative tools and software with the ability to integrate training metrics and deliverables into a Learning Management System (LMS)
- Write detailed documents and create other content, including videos, for manufacturing training operating procedures/presentations to better train the work force
- Research and evaluate relevant technologies and solutions for training improvement throughout the facility
- Assist Management in creating, maintaining, and cascading ongoing trainings to all employees on site
- Work closely with HR and management to monitor LMS training records to support the site and to be in compliance with regulations
- Provide quality training to ensure new employees have the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the manufacturing tasks for which they were hired
- Follow up with employees on any post-training questions as needed
- Create training scenarios and presentations including, but not limited to: hands-on scenarios, group presentations (both live and via Microsoft Teams), job expectations, and general information training sessions
- “Train the trainer” responsibilities, able to develop material for other site management to train employees
- May have multi-site responsibilities as programs develop
What You’ll Need
To be successful in this position, it is great if you have:
- Have a Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience with Microsoft Office products, CRM, ERP, and LMS programs
- Possess exceptional teaching and speaking skills in an industrial environment with both face to face and virtual delivery methods
- Possess industrial business experience in technical writing and training
- Be both process and goal-oriented while comfortable managing a training program from start to finish
- Committed to working collaboratively with management to outline priorities and identify growth opportunities for the plant
- Possess exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, industrial business experience, be a good cultural fit within the organization, and demonstrate a high energy level
