Position Overview

Responsible for understanding and managing all aspects of the Marine Payroll process and coordinating affective implementations of process change. This includes but is not limited to day to day Adonis system management, Systems Audits, Adonis training (office and shipboard), and direct Fleet management support.

Responsibilities

Manage Database

  • Develop an expert level for database development and determine scopes of work to optimize the efficiency of the organization’s business processes and manage projects to successful completion
  • Develop an expert level of hands on experience in Marine Payroll in Adonis management and configuration
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Adonis database concepts, architecture, features and practices
  • Demonstrate a functional acumen to support how solutions will address organizational goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices
  • Ensure that new database requirements meet company standards for readability, reliability, and performance.
  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs in Marine Payroll
  • Ensure sufficient, precise and timely information is well-distributed to applicable team members
  • Provide integration and set up support for staff and fleet

Manage Database Utilization

  • Standardize and manage database procedures for monitoring database performance, testing, archiving, and optimization
  • Establish templates, policies, and tools to expand and mature organizational goals and ensure process improvement
  • Track and implement suggestions and improvements from the fleet (Change Request Procedure)
  • Provide specialized reports to track key performance measures

Manage Database Issues

  • Serve as lead point of contact for database issues and recommend/guide staff in respect to database procedures
  • Track and implement suggestions and improvements from the fleet (Change Request Procedure)
  • Adding new, improving field descriptions, correcting, and consolidating duplicate Employee Records.
  • Drive standardization across the Fleet
  • Track known issues and solving them with system provider, vessels and department heads
  • Provide ad hoc support to fleet and TE SubCom departments/personnel in a timely and efficient manner to meet business needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Knowledge of payroll calculation and processing
  • Knowledge applicable federal rules and laws
  • Knowledge of applicable union collective bargaining agreements
  • Knowledge of process mapping and business process flow
  • Managing a training program
  • Advanced computer skills to manage and report on the collation of information.
