Sun Mountain Lodge:
Our 112 guest rooms, suites and cabins, feature either stunning views of the North Cascades or sweeping territorial views of the Methow Valley and the National Forest. All of our guestrooms are tastefully appointed with original artwork and hand-crafted wood furniture made by local artisans.

The crown jewel of our resort is our food and wine program. The Sun Mountain Lodge Dining Room is one of very few Washington State resort dining rooms with the coveted AAA Four Diamond Award. Our wine cellar has received numerous awards, including the prestigious Wine Restaurant of the Year and Wine Growers Appreciation Award. The wine cellar boasts over 3,500 bottles of primarily Washington wines, many of which are unavailable outside the wineries.

Sun Mountain was the first destination cross-country ski resort in the Northwest. It is now the largest, with over 60 km. of groomed trails, which are connected to and are part of the huge 175 km. Methow Valley Sport Trails Association system – one of the largest groomed ski trail systems in North America.

Additional facilities include a Bar and Grill, Spa, Banquet and Event space, gift shop as well as horse riding, and an all-season activities center.

The Marketing Manager Candidate We Are Looking For:


Sun Mountain Lodge, located in Winthrop, WA with a satellite office in Seattle Washington is looking for a Marketing Manager.

Have you always wanted to work for a premier top ranked hotel, well this is your chance to come on board as a Marketing Manager. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales and Marketing this role promotes on-brand messaging to customers through traditional digital, and social media channels with the goal of enhancing the image of the hotel.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for helping to create and execute our marketing strategy. You will lead our marketing campaigns, activated channels driving customer awareness and preference, increasing market share, and building a broader portfolio of brand awareness. This role focuses on showcasing all hotel activities and promotions to hotel guests and local patrons. You will evaluate our marketing performance metrics and collaborate with internal teams.

This position will liaise and build deep partnerships with the regional travel and tourism stakeholders to verify all local, social, and digital marketing efforts are effectively integrated with the selling efforts for the hotel.

You will need to have a strong marketing background, have worked in the hospitality industry, and must have excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

Hotel Marketing and Advertising:
    • Define and execute the marketing and communication activities according to our marketing plan
    • Coordinate all marketing activities to generate leads
    • Collaborate with other teams to promote offerings
    • Inform clients and prospects of products and services through creative marketing strategies
    • Track the performance of all marketing campaigns
    • Executes annual marketing plan to budget
    • Partners with inside teams to execute promotions and campaigns to target in house guest with promotions that drive incremental revenue.
    • Partners with the Revenue manager to verify offer loading and advertisement targeting
    • Ensures all advertising for the hotel in digital channel is in alignment with brand voice.
Social Media Management:
    • Facilitates social media engagement and updating content in local digital channels
    • Develops and executes promotional campaigns in F&B, weddings, spa, rooms, and conference though relevant digital and social media channels.
    • Engages in proactive online reputation management by surfacing relevant guest comments in social media channels and responds accordingly.

Public Relations and Visual Asset Management:
    • Develops a comprehensive Marketing and PR Plan per quarter and executes post sign off.
    • Maintains a list of local media contracts, with particular emphasis on food critics and bloggers, travel, and outdoor influencers.
    • Manages the execution of hotel-sponsored events.
    • Manages photo shoots and acts as a central point of contact for regionally approved local photographers, along with verifying all photography adheres to the brand voice.
Direct Marketing and Collateral Development:
    • Controls marketing collateral
    • Verifies brand standards are complying with company standards

Qualifications:

2-year degree from an accredited university in Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration or related major and 4 years experience in the sales, marketing, digital or related professional area; hospitality marketing or digital advertising experience preferred

OR

4-year bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Business, or related major; 2 years’ experience in the sales, marketing, digital or related professional area; hospitality marketing or digital advertising agency experience preferred
