Master Scheduler

Job Overview

Plans, controls, and directs the activities of all production scheduling functions for PJ Trailer manufacturing operations across all locations. Maintains production planning processes and system implementation. Hires, on-boards and provides continuous coaching to frontline production planners. Acts within the scope of established objectives and standard operating procedures to accomplish assigned goals.

Job Responsibilities

• Create and deploy supply requirements to supply base via MSD MRP system to achieve production, inventory, and cost objectives
• Ensure demand from all sources (production, aftermarket, engineering, etc.) is supported appropriately
• Generate and respond to the various MRP functionalities in support of operations
• Maintain periodic production schedules for all associated product families
• Execute ERP messaging tools to coordinate efforts needed to support operational needs
• Alert program & upper-level management when constraints inhibit product flow
• Process timely release of shop orders
• Ensure system lead times are reviewed & adjusted as required
• Correct system data that results in invalid load, lead time & schedule outputs
• Train and manage entry level planners

Education – Experience Required

• Create and deploy supply requirements to supply base via MSD MRP system to achieve production, inventory, and cost objectives
• Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in materials management, logistics or related field and/or relevant years direct work experience in scheduling and planning in an MRP environment.
• Detailed understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, and inventory control
• Sound organizational, communication and leadership skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Working experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems, MS Dynamics preferred
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to enable operational decision-making or present clear recommendations to leadership.
• Knowledge of Manufacturing process from the purchase of raw materials to sub-assembly to final assembly and distribution/procurement techniques and principles
• Strong communication, and problem-solving skills
• High level of organization and attention to detail
