IMH is seeking a full time MasterCam Programmer for our busy Indianapolis, IN facility. We are a metal manufacturing company with over 60 years of experience in the industry. To be successful in this role, the candidate will take customer generated geometry or drawings and saves them into the correct file format using CAD software, utilize MasterCam software to generate programs for equipment, troubleshoots specific applications as needed.
Summary of Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
- Ability to use CAD software with knowledge of programming software.
- Interpreting customer drawings, specifications and using MasterCam software to create programs for machining centers.
- Import files created with CAD software into the MasterCam software and generate files for machining programs
- Maximize tooling feeds & speeds, along with proficient tool pathing to increase production efficiency.
- Make program changes for document revisions as required.
- Assist with design of tooling and fixtures.
- Provide input on efficiency improvements and cost versus benefit analysis of new tooling/ applications considerations.
- Maintain tooling / cutting parameter inventory list.
- Maintain program files on computer and files of set up sheets
- Work with machinist on shop floor as needed to resolve issues

- Experience with Mazak, Haas, and Swiss machines preferred.
- Ability to make recommendations to effectively solve problems, using judgment consistent with standards, practices, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to focus on details, handle multiple tasks, and remain highly organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work with weldments & laser cut blanks in the machining centers
- 3D CAD proficiency (Solidworks or Inventor)
