Work Environment:

The position will be based in our corporate headquarters, near Madison, WI, but it will offer a hybrid work arrangement allowing the flexibility to work a few days a week from home.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage the seasonal development of materials in cooperation with the product team, agents, vendors and mills. Effective and timely communication throughout the product development cycle; to ensure fabric information is accurate and complete for business decisions to be made at calendar milestones.
  • Translate brand aesthetic and product team development requests into clear, executable direction for vendor and mill partners.
  • Identify and communicate recommendations for leveraging qualities across divisions.
  • Analyze fabric information sheets and testing to ensure fabric meets all requested properties and functions.
  • Comprehend development and bulk results of lab tests, and their impact on quality and performance.
  • Ensure all fabrications meet Duluth’s performance attributes, testing requirements and sustainability requirements to support marketing claims (wicking, odor management, UPF, recycled, etc.).
  • Identify and proactively engage cross-functional business partners when issues arise with recommendations for viable options/solutions.
  • Identify new testing requirements based on innovation and growth in product categories. Partner with 3rd party testing labs to maintain and develop testing protocols.
  • Conduct market research to identify new materials and innovation. Understand the competitive landscape.
  • Maintain fabric library and fabric technical information in PLM.
  • Maintain physical approval swatch records.
  • Create and request bulk testing in PLM; track and follow up on receipt.
  • Manage off-specification lab dip & bulk color approval process.
  • Travel domestically and internationally when required.

What We're Looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in textiles, apparel, or similar; or relevant work experience
    • Equivalent work experience would be considered
  • Minimum 4-6 years’ related experience
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem Solver – proactively solve problems and effectively manage multiple challenges
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and be self-directed
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Understanding of PLM system
  • High rating on pantone color vision test a plus
  • Understanding of textiles a plus

Compensation: $62,370 - $79,658/Year

Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, federal, state and local minimum wage requirements, etc.
