Job description
The duties of the Material Handler/Forklift Driver ensure the safe transportation of products, packaging and raw materials to and from production lines, packaging areas, and trailers.
Essential Accountabilities
- Completes forklift driver’s daily checklist form
- Replenish fluids and generates maintenance work request forms for repairs needed
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Pick and stage packaging and supplies to work areas
- Receive materials from production by verifying and identifying information and quantity of materials
- Load and unload trailers
- Verify case/pallet counts and patterns; report discrepancies to the floor and/or the department supervisor
- Maintain a clean and neat work area at all times
- Operate Standup forklift, Rider, and Electrical walk behind
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to operate: Stand Up Fork Lift Double Reach, Riding Pallet Jack
- Ability to operate inventory scanning equipment
- Ability to work in a cold, damp environment
- Able to stand 4 plus hours at one time
- Able to bend, twist, stoop on an occasional basis
