Here’s the Gist:
Wolfspeed is seeking a proven, hands-on, experienced, and highly motivated individual to take on the challenging role of Materials Customer Quality Engineer within our Materials Business. This person will be responsible for driving customer satisfaction through alignment and execution of customer and Wolfspeed quality requirements for our SiC wafer products.
The Materials Customer Quality Engineer reports to the Director of Manufacturing Quality and is based in Durham, NC. This position will have significant influence over the explosive growth of Wolfspeed’s external SiC and EPI businesses. The Materials Customer Quality Engineer will be a key leader within the Manufacturing Quality Engineering team.
To be successful, this person will be a highly driven, self-motivated leader who is equally comfortable in front of customers and working directly with the factory teams. They will help to create total quality culture that is responsive to customers’ needs and adept at continual improvement across multiple operational functions.
The Day-to-Day:
- Manage and drive timely closure of customers' issues, collaborating with business teams, factories, and other support teams.
- Interface with customers on technical evaluation of issues.
- Lead and support Quality Management activities such as audits, RMA responses, and problem-solving feedback to customers).
- Work with the internal technical organizations and teams to ensure high quality products are achieved and that customer expectations are met.
- Align with sales and business on the strategic direction needed to support customer quality objectives.
- Drive quality improvements to meet all customer expectations regarding PPM of product shipped, quality of corrective action reports, and cycle time of customer requests.
- Drive alignment on information and documentation of product quality related topics for customers.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with key customer and internal stakeholders.
- Direct, manage and coordinate activities of cross-functional groups outside of the quality organization to achieve customer quality requirements.
- Receive assignments in the form of broad objectives and translate into detailed action plans to meet objectives.
This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Qualifications):
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related degree.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience.
- Knowledge in semiconductor quality systems, semiconductor materials, and semiconductor wafer fabrication.
- The ability to operate in a fast paced, highly dynamic environment and to execute at both a detailed level as well as a strategic level.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Experience with IATF 16949 certification or auditing to the IATF 16949 standard.
- Demonstrated capability of interacting with senior leaders throughout an organization.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead highly technical teams
- Ability to work in large, complex, global environment.
