Materials Test Engineer

Salary: $75,000 - $92,000

Up to $5k Sign-On Bonus

Job Summary

We are hiring immediately for a Materials Test Engineer to join the team in Fayetteville, TN. The Test engineer will design and implement tests that verify the quality and functionality of new and existing wire and cable products used in all applications related to product lines. Participation will include in all phases of testing, from determining the test procedures to troubleshooting errors and communicating recommendations for improvement to the rest of the product development team. The work will require alternating between the office, factory, and 3rd party test labs. Supports activities related to meeting customer needs (internal and external) and the overall strategic business plan.

Responsibilities

Responsible for managing 3rd party verification of the mechanical, physical, and electrical properties of products, including written formal reports

• Manage, Design, Monitor and Perform Specialized Testing for Product Validation.
• Work collaboratively with sales team to support market growth initiatives and technical test related support of products
• Work collaboratively with Product Line Managers in the research and development of new products
• Must have strong interpersonal skills and working relationship to work well with cross-functional teams
• Develop Procedures - define procedures for specific products by writing test plans and creating test cases based on requirements and design documentation. They may also develop automated systems to make tests reusable.
• Conduct Testing - make sure that products are completely error-free and in line with specifications by performing various kinds of testing, including quality assurance and design reviews.
• Provide Technical Support - provide technical support to other teams, assisting with problems encountered internally.
• Ensure Compliance - ensure that materials, products, equipment, and processes meet industry-based compliance requirements.
• Domestic and International travel

Requirements

Technical Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering

• Minimum 3 - 5 years’ professional experience with testing related activities.
• Solid understanding and knowledge of electrical, mechanical, physical, and chemical processes and principles
• Sound problem solving and decision-making skills
• Detail oriented with excellent planning and organization skills – able to prioritize
• Motivated individual who needs little or no guidance
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Must have strong project management skills
