This Retail Onboarding Specialist will coordinate the processes related to creating a great teammate (employee) onboarding experience throughout McGriff, except for the producer role. As part of this experience, this individual will perform tasks such as welcoming hires, communicating what to expect the first week, and navigating new systems, processes, and procedures early in their tenure. Also, this individual partners with hiring managers to ensure they order the proper equipment, craft new hires’ onboarding plans and help them troubleshoot when issues arise in the onboarding process. Overall, the Retail Onboarding Specialist promotes new hires’ engagement within the organization and helps to further evolve McGriff as an employer of choice.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Partner with managers and other stakeholders to identify and execute opportunities to create a positive employee experience.

2. Coordinate and track onboarding-related tasks (e.g., new hire metrics, adherence to touch-point milestones).

3. Serve as a contact person for teammates and hiring managers when confronted with onboarding challenges (e.g., equipment ordering)

4. Facilitate meetings and orientation sessions, and help new teammates understand the resources available to them.

5. Conduct stay interviews with new teammates to gauge their experience and proactively identify issues that may be emerging.

6. Analyze and present metrics that show the impact of onboarding and employee experience efforts.

7. Support the organization’s DE&I and cultural goals in ways such as promoting dialogue and ensuring employees feel respected and valued; proactively identify and communicate any challenges seen to the appropriate stakeholder.

8. Support other projects or initiatives as needed (e.g., internship programs, talent management, leadership development coordination).

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
2. Two-four years of experience in an onboarding-related role
3. Excellent organization, coordination, and program/project management skills
4. Possesses presentation and facilitation skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communication; ability to present and train others in a clear, professional and engaging manner
5. Demonstrates creativity and problem-solving capability when faced with challenges
6. Navigates and creates direction in complex, ambiguous situations and work independently
7. Interacts with diverse types of individuals, promotes collaboration, and drives partnership and alignment; demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude
8. Demonstrated ability to generate professional reports, training materials, and presentations; possess expert proficiency in Microsoft Office
9. Ability to learn new technology quickly and help others to learn the technology

10. Experience creating orientation programs and engaging new hire experience

Preferred Qualifications:
1. An undergraduate degree focused on organizational development or a similar focus area
2. Experience in the insurance industry and/or supporting process improvement initiatives in a talent department a plus
