Job description
TRC Staffing is looking for a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer or Tech with equivalent experience with interest in the automotive industry. This position will be in the block machining department with a focus on cylinder block honing. The honing engineer will work alongside 2 other machining engineers and closely with a team of assembly project engineers.
- Lead engine block honing department in process and quality improvement
- Know G and M code
- Have experience in horizontal/vertical machine centers, grinding, lathes
- Assist in new hire selection
- Maintain quality standards
- Learn and be key point of knowledge for abrasives and honing technology
- Develop and maintain hone supplier relations (tooling stock and repair)
- Identify bottle necks and propose solutions
- Work with trainers on key training aspects
- Develop work process procedure documents
- Work with maintenance to identify key failure modes and improve critical spare parts
- Assist all other machining departments in troubleshooting, development, and improvement
- Lead in new equipment installation, startup, and commissioning
- Learn and assist with PTWA cylinder bore process
- Robotic programing is a plus
