MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Jamestown North Dakota

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical and management aspects of projects. The successful candidate will be accountable for successful completion of assigned projects; ensuring regular contact with all assigned stakeholders’ both internal and external to the company. The Mechanical Engineer will participate in client/contractor meetings, resolve client/engineering and management project issues and assist in preparation of engineering project proposals including technical definition, schedule estimation and resource planning

The successful candidate will be expected to conduct themselves in a professional, respectful and ethical manner at all times, carry out all job responsibilities in accordance with site safety rules and expectations, actively participate in the innovation and improvement of the site and company, and “find a better way every day.”

Responsibilities:
  • Actively participate in writing specifications, researching and selecting suppliers and materials, and ordering preliminary studies as required.
  • Ensure any proposed installation fits within existing structures and as required and engage the services of external engineering firms.
  • Involved in the selection of general contractors and jointly with the engineering firms, follow up on call for tenders to select service providers
  • Management and coordination of all technical activities on assigned projects; plans, schedules, and coordinates assigned personnel and engineering work; monitors work for compliance to project requirements, applicable standards and accepted engineering practices
  • Ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned project between all disciplines and all other project participants
  • Responsible & accountable to ensure all assigned personnel are coordinating activities with other participants’, and that customer requirements are being achieved or exceeded
  • Having sufficient technical knowledge and awareness of details to be able to recognize when technical problems are developing in various disciplines, and to initiate appropriate corrective actions.
Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer with between 3-5 years' experience
  • Industry experience in Manufacturing preferred
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering - Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical
  • Project Management Professional Certification an asset
  • AutoCAD an asset
