My client has an excellent opportunity for a Director of Sales and Business Development in the Metal and Transformers Business. They are looking for a candidate that has 10+ years related experience selling customer engineered components in the automotive and general industrial marketplace in the US and Europe. The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical Engineering Degree and the required years of experience in the industry.

The Director will plan, and control all sales activities and new projects for the businesses and be responsible for achieving annual sales plan in a cost effective manner. The Director of Sales is also responsible for the performance of all the department functions to include, sales, project management and customer service. Travel (US & International) will be required 25% or greater.

This is a full time position with benefits ( medical, dental, life, 401K and bonus based on company and individual results.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Responsible for both Metal Transformers Divisions

· Coordinates sales efforts by establishing market, sales, and product gross profit goals and assigns sales territory to manufacturer’s representatives.

· Reviews market trends to determine customer needs, volume potential, price point, emerging technologies in order to develop sales strategy to accomplish growth goals of the company.

· Represents company at trade association functions to promote product.

· Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program, customer service, project management, and European sales office. This role is responsible for leading the strategic initiatives to grow sales Y-O-Y for the Metal and Transformer businesses.

· Creates and controls expenditures of department to conform to annual budget requirements.

· Assists other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications.

· Prepares 90-day rolling sales / monthly shipping forecast for Metal and Transformers.

· Provides input on product research and development to the engineering and product development department.

· Creates (5) Year Strategic Sales Initiatives for Metal and Transformers businesses.

· Prepares annual business plan for sales revenue.

· Plans and participates in overall division reviews to corporate personnel.

· Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising department employee’s performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Experience:

· Mechanical Engineering Degree Preferred

· 10+ years related experience selling custom engineered components in the automotive and general industrial marketplace and internationally based companies in the US and Europe.

· Must have strong knowledge of financial statements and be aware of P & L impact of selling decisions.

· Must have strong computer skills utilizing Microsoft office suite and be proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word and working knowledge of Microsoft Project

· Related experience as a Director or higher level over sales in an organization.

· Excellent mathematical concepts such as probability, statistics, and calculating cost.

· Working knowledge of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and Financial Statements (Income Statements, Cash Flow, and Balance Sheet).

· Excellent negotiation and verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent Team Player.
