Location: First Majestic (42 miles N of Elko, NV)
Rotation: 7 on / 7 off
Shift Length: 12 hours
Pre-employment Requirements: Drug Test, Medical, Background Check
Description
Under the supervision of the Mechanical Supervisor and/or Underground Superintendent, the primary role of the Mechanical Helper is to assist the Underground Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic or Lead Mechanic in the preventative maintenance and repairs to diesel, electrical, hydraulic and air-operated equipment. This includes mobile equipment, hoists, compressors, drills, small tools and miscellaneous equipment of a similar nature.
Education & Experience:
- Completion of United States Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) New, Inexperienced Miner training
- Experience reading blueprints
- Underground experience preferred
- Experience in maintenance and repairs to underground mining equipment ( MTI Jumbo, MacLean Bolters, CAT1700 Loaders, 30 Tone trucks, remote scoop) is considered an asset
- Work experience in an industrial environment
Responsibilities:
- Support the mechanics in their daily tasks
- Fuel and grease equipment and check equipment fluid levels
- Participate in the cleanliness and good order of the mechanical workshop
- Participate in kitting & staging of parts for repair
- Able to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Work efficiently as part of a team and independently
