Blackstone Talent Group, an award-winning technology consulting and talent agency is seeking a Mechanical System Analyst to join our team at our client’s site in Long Beach, CA.
Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design. Supports the development, maintenance or modification of system, component and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups. Performs and documents analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Contributes to supplier development, test and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals. Supports system components'' designs/proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation. Trains others. Works under general direction.
The new position will be responsible for engineering support of asset and supplier management activities related to C-17 fleet sustainment of mechanical systems, electrical, propulsion and structures. These tasks will include:
- Preparing supplier statements of work defining component requirements and tasks for new build, repair and failure investigation activities.
- Performing technical evaluations of supplier proposals for component procurement, repair and failure investigation activities including performing an evaluation of supplier non-recurring tasks as proposed and the reasonableness of the labor and scope associated with those tasks.
- Prepare market research evaluations and sole source justifications.
- Attend the weekly Supplier Management and Engineering Collaboration Meeting reporting out on status of Supplier Management requests for engineering disposition.
- Coordinating Supplier Information Requests with the cognizant engineers and providing a response back to Supplier Management.
- Direct coordination with suppliers asking for support or answering questions.
- Preparation of online procurement action requests (CAPRS) from engineering.
