In this role you will:

Be responsible for running a high volume patient clinic and handling secretarial duties for the physician, which includes knowledge of medical terminology, and hospital and clinic procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle inter-office correspondence.
  • Opening and distribution of mail for Physician.
  • Maintaining Physicians files & schedule
  • Scheduling of appointments, depositions, conferences, etc.
  • Scheduling patient surgeries, pre and post operative appointments, and preparing paperwork.
  • Triaging of patient calls.
  • Completing Disability Forms for patients.
  • Making travel arrangements for Physicians.
  • Obtains all charts from Medical Records and ensures all information for the patients visit is available.
  • Ensures that zones are adequately stocked for the clinic, including medical supplies and prescriptions.
  • Assists the physician during visit with injections, suture removal, dressing changes, etc.
  • Prepares prescriptions and patient education materials.
  • Returns outside films to the patient at the end of the appointment unless the physician requests to have the films filed at FOI.
  • Cleans and restocks exam rooms and MA station for the next day clinic.
  • Assure compliance with all company plans, policies and procedures set forth by the Florida Orthopaedic Institute
  • All other duties as assigned


About You:

  • High School Diploma
  • Certified Medical Assistant with a minimum of 2 years on the job experience
  • Must be able to travel to all clinic locations in the Tampa Bay area
  • Must be able to work extended hours to cover clinics as needed
  • Must have suture/staple removal experience

  • Athena EMR experience
  • Back-office experience
  • Surgical scheduling experience.
