Aurora Mental Health Center (AuMHC) is seeking Medical Assistants to provide outstanding psychiatric support for persons with mental illness and substance use disorders. This includes taking patient vitals, phlebotomy and scheduling. $1,000 Sign On Bonus Available! *Not eligible for internal and PRN candidates.
Based on full time (40 hours/week). Prorate if less than 40 hours/week. Paid in two installments: 50% on first paycheck, 50% on paycheck following 6-month anniversary.
Salary for this role.
- $16.05 - $24.07 per hour (based on experience and company equity)
Bilingual Language Differential Pay. *rate depends on language requirements for the position and candidate's fluency.
- 5% of base salary up to a maximum of $3,000/year.
About the team.
Our Medical Services division is made up of several programs that provide daily, specialized support to adults and children with mental illness, while maintaining ties to their family and community. Intensive medical services collaborates with therapeutic teams that provide case management, day treatment, vocational, residential, substance abuse, and therapy services to help patients maintain daily functioning.
Responsibilities:
- Support the clinical functions of the medical team (obtain vitals for prescribers.)
- Coordinate scheduling and rescheduling of prescriber appointments. Make reminder calls for prescriber appointments.
- Maintain appropriate documentation in electronic health record (enter lab orders etc.)
- Provide venipuncture services as needed (if qualified.)
- Manage medication orders as directed by prescriber including Patient Assistance.
- Understand and comply with organizational goals around quality, compliance, standards, and policies.
- Provide information to credentialing, payroll, etc. in a timely manner.
- Act as a liaison between medical resources and the patient
- Staff member will monitor and coordinate care for assigned clients in partnership with the other members of the clients care team.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Preferred: formal medical assistant training.
- Preferred: three years' of relevant clinical work experience.
- Qualified Medication Administration Person (QMAP) certification, within one year of hire.
- Preferred: MA certification.
- CPR/BLS/CPI certifications, within one year of hire.
Required Vaccinations and TB Test.
AuMHC has prioritized the health and safety of our clients and staff and requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, receive an annual influenza (flu) shot, and receive negative TB test results prior to their first day of hire. Proof of both vaccinations and negative TB test will be required upon your first day of employment. Medical and religious exemptions may be requested for either COVID 19 vaccine or annual flu shot.
