The Medical Billing and Coding Specialist (Data Analyst) serves as a member of the Well Woman HealthCheck Program. This role entails reviewing and entering data into a specialized system for the Well Woman HealthCheck Program- CaST (Cancer Screening and Tracking System). Ensuring medical coding entries are accurate and billing is based on Medicare Guidelines. Medical coding experience is preferred but, a current certificate is not required. Medical knowledge is also a plus, with a history of medical coding and billing experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review and Audit billing submitted by assigned contractor/grantee participating in the federally funded National Breast and Cervical Screening Program (NBCCDP) through the Well Woman HealthCheck Program (WWHP) Investigate medical procedure codes billed to ensure compliance with NBCCEDP Program Manual and the State of Arizona WWHP Scope of Work.

Deny/Approve or correct codes based on the medical determination provided. Engage contractors/grantees for clarification, missing documentation, or to remind them of the program guidelines; and inform them of program funding appropriations.

Troubleshoot difficult cases and coding scenarios with WWHP Operations and Program Manager, Cancer Program Administrator and Epidemiologist for the best decision making. Support team members as needed and participate in weekly huddles for program and contractor/grantees update and coding reviews. Ensure accuracy in data entry and review process.
