Touchton Surgery Center is looking for a Full-Time Medical Billing Specialist and Collector who is hard working, experienced and a dedicated team player. Our new, state-of-the-art, ambulatory surgery center is conveniently located in the Southside area and is closed on nights and weekends. Our specialties include orthopedics, urology, neuro, plastics and spine.

The professional in this role will be responsible for the full revenue cycle including billing, following up on claims and obtaining the required documentation to determine the maximum allowable amount for reimbursement. This individual must have superior knowledge of coding guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements as well as the ability to analyze and follow third party payer contracts and reimbursement rules.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for keying charges to the applicable pay sources taking the correct contract adjustments
• Responsible for verifying insurance and following up on denied claims and balances
• Identifying billing or coding issues to re-bill, add secondary billing or correct bills as needed ·
• Obtain any needed invoices from vendors to bill implants/supplies
• Patient billing
• Audit patient balance accounts for collections turn over
• Posting paper and electronic remits
• Updating plan IDs and Patient/Payor demographic information; identifying payor issues and trends and resolve recoup issues
• Take initiative in attaining and maintaining accounts receivable
• Assist in review and selection of accounts to be transferred to outside collection agencies
• Maintain patient account confidentiality and respect non-disclosure of financial affairs of the surgery center
• Conduct duties with empathy, support, respect, and professionalism at the core of every interaction
• Have exceptional phone skills with strong customer service and the ability to multitask
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-Time

Qualifications:

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• Extensive collection/billing reimbursement experience in an ASC setting
• Experience in an ASC revenue cycle environment
• Superior knowledge of coding guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements
• Must have exceptional organizational and computer technical skills and have the ability to follow directions and set priorities
• Good knowledge of medical terminology, abbreviations, techniques and surgical procedures
• Excellent written and oral communication along with good analytical skills of situations
• Ability to work as a team

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
