Medical Director, Cooley Dickinson Medical Group - High Level Overview:
The CDMG Medical Director will provide leadership and expertise for Cooley Dickinson Health Care's large multi-specialty, multi-site practice group. Major responsibilities will include: Integration and alignment, clinical quality improvement, medical staff oversight, and physician leadership development. He/she will champion the quality efforts driving clinical integration and consistency of care throughout the organization. The Medical Director will partner with Hospital, PHO, and Administrative leadership to strategically develop programs, processes and systems that ensure the viability and future growth of the medical group. The CDMG Medical Director will be a part-time position, with the expectation that the balance of the time will be serving as a provider.
The successful candidate will be an experienced physician leader with clinical credibility and a distinct vision for an integrated multispecialty group, functioning as part of an integrated/coordinated health care system. He/she will have demonstrated success in clinical practice operations along with familiarity with use and leveraging an electronic medical record to optimize care. The successful candidate will be visible and engaging, with an effective and open communication style. Candidates must hold an M.D. or equivalent medical degree, be board certified, and be eligible for medical licensure in Massachusetts. Proven and substantial leadership experience is required. Commitment to collaboration with all parts of the system and staff at various levels is critical.
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Leads efforts among CDMG providers that support the vision of CDMG as a provider-led organization that works as an integrated multi-specialty group.
• Develops and oversees CDMG programs and policies that support the delivery of high quality, personalized care, that support population health management goals to be cost effective and maximizes the value to our patients and community.
• Partners with CDHC Provider Recruitment to recruit, screen and on-board new providers to CDMG.
• Works with providers to grow CDMG, maintain services in-network, and grow market share for CDHC.
• Represents CDMG provider’s perspectives and needs in various forums in CDHC, Mass General Hospital, and Partners.
• Works with VP, CDMG and providers to evolve incentive compensation system to one that appropriately incorporates quality, value, citizenship in addition to productivity.
• Leads CDMG activities to align with CDPHO goals and incentives and to perform well in the measures. Represents CDMG providers at CDPHO committees.
• Assesses and helps develop CDMG provider education that supports CDHC and CDMG goals.
• In concert with Medical Director of Quality for system, manages patient complaints, clinical near misses and adverse events (using quality improvement/just culture approaches) that involve CDMG practices and/or providers.

The CDMG Medical Director will report directly to the VP, CDMG, with a "dotted-line" reporting relationship to the system CMO. This leader will also routinely interface with the CDMG provider and administrative leaders, CD PHO, CDHC Provider Recruiter, CDHC Provider Liaison, other medical group medical directors across Partners, et al.
