JOB DESCRIPTION:
Assists the Point of Care Coordinator/Technical Specialist in the management and support of the Point of Care Program and serves as a resource person for all POC/satellite laboratories which encompass the UVMMC campus and entire state of Vermont. The Point of Care Specialist performs all day to day functions necessary to support all sites performing laboratory testing outside the main laboratory. Represents the laboratory to other areas in UVMMC. Covers in the absence of the Point of Care Coordinator/Technical Specialist. Responsibilities for teaching, training, correction of procedural/instrument issues increase through the range of POC I to POC III.
EDUCATION:
Baccalaureate degree in Medical Laboratory Science. Certified in the field. (Certification tracked by department.)
EXPERIENCE:
2 years previous experience in a clinical lab setting is required.
