Medical Records Tech
Full Time-Day 8a-430p
Job Summary
The Medical Records Tech performs general clerical duties and retrieves, files and maintains patient records
according to department policies and procedures.
**Electronic Medical Records Experience a Plus**
MEDICAL RECORD: Retrieves correct portion of medical record and utilize the
computerized record tracking system correctly. Signs out and returns record correctly
in the computer tracking system. Coordinate the retrieval of records sent to microfilm.
Retrieve and account for all medical records on discharged patients from the nursing
units and/or outpatient areas. File/Scan records/loose documents into correct visit.
Shifts and purges files. Assembles records in the correct page order. Prepare records
to be scanned.
RELEASE OF INFORMATION: Verifies authorization and ID for the release of
information, including affiliated student programs.
