The Consortium for Hydrogen and Renewably Generated E-Fuels (CHARGE) is a collaborative effort bringing together researchers, industry leaders and educators to transform clean energy and heavy-duty transportation in Washington state. Formed under the umbrella of JCDREAM, CHARGE aims to create and enable collaborations that will develop and deploy next-generation technologies to ensure that our members and Washington state leads globally in the green hydrogen and low carbon e-fuel economy.

The Joint Center for Deployment and Research in Earth Abundant Materials (JCDREAM) promotes research into new technologies using earth-abundant materials to provide industrial supply-chain security, economic sustainability and sound environmental stewardship. As an umbrella organization of JCDREAM, CHARGE is working to leverage the clean, low-cost energy available in Washington state into a hydrogen and low-carbon e-fuel economy that will provide energy security to the region and beyond with earth abundant materials, economic sustainability, and environmental stewardship at the forefront of the conversation.

We are hiring a Membership Coordinator to join the team. With the support of the Membership Coordinator, CHARGE will grow its membership to include utilities with low-cost clean power, hydrogen or e-fuel producers, and transportation companies or consumers of hydrogen and fuel.

Relevant types of experience include but are not limited to customer service, administrative, marketing, communications, and business management experience or education.

What is the job?
The Membership Coordinator will be responsible for activities designed to grow the membership base, enhance public awareness, and increase public and private support for the Consortium for Hydrogen and Renewably Generated E-Fuels (CHARGE.) This includes membership development and activation, member database management, creating and updating member service offerings, writing, editing and coordinating news releases, newsletters, metrics reporting, proposals, educational content, brochures, video footage, still photography and other materials for multiple platforms. The role will include communications projects such as promoting and organizing events and developing/maintaining a database of contacts in support of CHARGE's mission of collaborative academic and industrial research as well as public outreach and education.

Coordinate the operation of a specialized or technical program. Under general direction, perform work using knowledge and experience specific to the program. Exercise independent judgment in interpreting and applying rules and regulations. Independently advise students, staff, program participants and/or the public regarding program content, policies, procedures and activities; select/recommend alternative courses of action and either: Project, monitor, maintain, initiate and/or approve expenditures on program budgets OR Have extensive involvement with students, staff, the public and/or agencies in carrying out program activities, and coordinate, schedule and monitor program activities to determine consistency with program goals.

Summary of Duties:

The Membership Coordinator will be responsible for activities designed to grow the membership base, enhance public awareness, and increase public and private support for the Consortium for Hydrogen and Renewably Generated E-Fuels (CHARGE.) This includes developing and executing on a comprehensive membership development and activation strategy, managing a member database, creating and updating member service offerings, and public relations functions for the consortium. The role will also include light administrative support duties and communications projects such as promoting and organizing public events in support of CHARGE's mission of collaborative academic and industrial research, as well as public outreach and education.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty OR equivalent education/experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, marketing or other relevant field AND one (1) year of professional experience in customer service, customer success, member services, CRM management, development or advancement, public relations, marketing including the use of electronic media or two (2) years of other relevant professional experience.
  • Experience may include: Internships, educational experience, high school jobs, volunteer activity, customer service, administrative, marketing, communications, business management experience or education.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel programs.



Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience or education in STEM field.
  • Background in membership services, advancement or customer engagement.
  • Experience working in a startup or other fast paced work environment.
  • Experience in professional communication with executives.
  • Experience with email marketing or CRM software.
