I. POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for researching, developing, programming, integrating, and implementing the production Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems (SCADA) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). Also designs and evaluates related computer hardware and software.
II. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
4 year related college degree (or equivalent experience)
3-5 years related industrial experience
3-5 years experience with PLC code
Readily learns and adopts new technologies.
Understanding of PLC/Ladder logic programming
Detail oriented
Ability to read/understand schematics/technical documentation
Strong troubleshooting skills
Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously
Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio for development, testing, debugging, and deploying applications.
Hands on experience programming MES or SCADA applications
III. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
A.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties consistent with the general nature and focus of the position and/or the goals and objectives of the department may be assigned.)

Design production SCADA systems and MES. Write PLC code for event and data transfer to SCADA PC. Develop Human Machine Interface (HMI) with application software. Set up print spooling software on SCADA servers and client PC. Support on-line SCADA systems by developing systems to support office, home, and travel locations. Specify to new production equipment manufactures the PLC hardware components, sensors, and PLC code requirements necessary for data acquisition and control of the machine. Work with PLC code requirements necessary for data acquisition and control of the machine. Work with PLC integrators to test and debug PLC machine code after delivery. Support, maintain, and expand systems and equipment in Spencer and offsite locations as needed.
Write troubleshooting and operating SCADA manuals. Develop customized reports, queries, and forms to allow data input and distribution of data to managers, supervisors, quality engineers, SPC technicians, PCL lab technicians, and Business Team members. Develop manual and automated SPC applications on various coating equipment.
Design and oversee installation of electrical sensing and remote input devices. Install and configure various operating systems and network protocols on SCADA servers and PC’s. Establish and build databases on servers. Test PC’s, printers, and networking hardware for SCADA systems. Develop and maintain real time production status monitoring system for Scheduling department.
Train all production shifts and relevant personnel to use SCADA/MES system and customized reports. Provide on-call service for continuous production operations. Travel to site; diagnose and resolve problems. Visit machine supplier to review machine data acquisition and control code prior to delivery.
Troubleshoot and scale components feeding signals into SCADA. Support engineering department in resolving routine PC hardware and software problems.
Study and comprehend functions/operating procedures of production equipment interfacing with SCADA.
Write and maintain various MS Access, SQL Express and Web applications.

*B. PHYSICAL AND COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS*
Category #3 (Hybrid Employee): Employee requires regular travel to a FLEXcon facility and will require a dedicated remote and onsite office space (does need to live within a reasonable driving commute to FLEXcon NA Facility).
Must be punctual, able to sustain attendance guidelines, and work hours as assigned.
Estimated % of travel is 20 %
D. ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH AND SAFETY:
Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all environmental and safety regulations, including the Company’s environmental and safety policies and procedures. Must be willing to report potential environmental and safety improvements to appropriate supervisory and/or management personnel.
Must report all (on shift / off shift) incidents to Supervisor immediately.
Must adhere to FLEXcon’s personal protective equipment standards.
The incumbent in this position is responsible for knowledge of and adherence to environmental policies and company procedures as per the company’s Environmental Management System.
Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of harm to the safety of themselves or others.
Responsible for informing the Company if he/she is taking medications or if there are any other circumstances that would interfere with safe performance of job duties.
E. QUALITY
