Description:This position is that of a working leader/supervisor in a growing manufacturing area where items requiring calibration is significantly growing.

The successful candidate will manage the development and evaluation of calibration systems that measure characteristics of objects, substances, or phenomena, such as length, mass, time, temperature, electric current, luminous intensity, and derived units of physical or chemical measure. Responsibilities include:

Coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.

Directing the development of calibration methods and techniques based on principles of measurement science, technical analysis of measurement problems and accuracy and precision requirements.

Performing calibration tasks such as calibrate, adjust, maintain and verify, electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, pressure type measuring equipment, torque wrenches, power torque, and pneumatic torque systems.

Performing temperature measurements and adjustments on ovens, chambers, refrigerators and freezers, weigh scales, precision measuring tools, and safety monitoring equipment.

Performing shipping operations using established methodologies, and procedures.

Performing proof loads, and tool inspections in accordance with local procedures and tool drawings.

Performing tasks within calibration recall system such as calibration item record management and updates.

The Locale: Troy, Alabama is located in the East Gulf Coastal Plains region of southeastern Alabama. Troy's climate is typical of areas along the Gulf of Mexico in that it has hot, humid summers and mild winters.

Troy is a great place to live offering lots of things to do and has a small-town charm. Troy is also a college town and is home to Troy University.

Where can you get to from Troy? Our facility in Troy is just under an hour south of Montgomery, Alabama. Troy is about 2.5 hours north of the Gulf of Mexico and Fort Walton Beach and Florida's Pan Handle. Troy is about three hours from Atlanta, GA.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a Technical Discipline or equivalent experience/combined education

Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance. Lockheed Martin will assist candidate with obtaining at least an Interim Secret Clearance prior to starting.

Three years of equivalent calibration experience.

Experience performing calibration tasks such as calibrate, adjust, maintain and verify, electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, pressure type measuring equipment, torque wrenches, power torque, and pneumatic torque systems.

Ability to work with and around explosives.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite.

Effective communication and presentation skills

**Candidate must be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives ("ATF") background check to obtain approval to be an "employee possessor" (of explosives or other ATF-regulated items) as defined by ATF regulations. Failure to obtain and retain employee possessor status may result in revocation of an offer and loss of employment
Desired Skills:
Five to eight years of prior calibration experience

Knowledge of the ISO Standards, ANSI/NCSL Z-540, and ISO/IEC 17025

Green Belt certified

Experience in writing and revising calibration procedures

Defense contractor or military contractor experience
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
