The Mill Machine Operator is responsible for operating equipment pertaining to the rough rice cleaning, shelling, milling, and sorting. The Mill Machine Operator is also responsible for making adjustments on equipment, and reporting operation conditions to the Production Supervisor. The operator is responsible for minor maintenance of equipment, and cleanliness of the mill. A Mill Machine Operator must be able to record data on appropriate forms, and performed according to Riviana Foods Inc. Good Manufacturing Practices, Safety Standards, and Rules of Conduct.

Job Duties and Responsibilities are listed below but not limited to:

• Maintain proper product level to equipment
• Ensures all equipment in assigned area is functioning properly and make necessary adjustments when needed
• Operates sweep auger in metal bin area, and physically adjust auger when necessary
• Remove 100# sacks of rejected product from discharge chutes
• Completes master sanitation schedule as required
• Replaces 30# sheller rolls on regular basis
• Unclog bran from equipment
• Ensures bins, tanks, and silos are set for rough rice cleaning, shelling, milling, and sorting to and from each department
• Ensures information on bin cards is correct and posted; takes physical inventory of rice in process and by-products.
• Keeps production supervisor informed of status of bin information
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment by following all 5S standards
• Understand and adheres to all safety and employment policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

• Must be 18 years old
• Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling and twisting, prolong standing, ability to see different colors
• Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions
• Ability to work in environment which may include heat, cold, dust, noise with the use of personal protective equipment
• Ability to work in elevated areas
