Summary:
The duties of a Mill/Operator include transporting mill product via tractor/trailer throughout the mill and mill yard areas. Must be able to inspect and operate equipment and deliver each load promptly and securely.

A Successful Mill/Operator:
Must consistently demonstrate the company's Mission and Values. They must have good oral and written communication skills in order to effectively interact with customers, drivers and other team members in person and on the telephone. They must be customer service-oriented as well as team-oriented and must have good organizational skills. A successful Mill/Operator must be able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Finally, they must be able to work a flexible schedule when needed to including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Requirements:Essential Duties and Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:
- Comply with all SJIs (Safe Job Instructions), successfully complete all training requirements. Comply with federal, state and local regulations as they apply to our mill operation.
- Maintain a clean truck
- Follow mill guidelines and specifications
- Safely transport each load
- Inspect and report equipment issues to maintenance
- Operate and maintain equipment safely
- Aid mill/customer employees with internal logistics needs
- Report any issues, incidents, or hazards to the supervisor on duty
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Assist in mill and yard work as needed.
- Drive tractor/trailer.
- CDL is NOT required - training offered.
- Mill schedule.
