Job Summary

Is responsible for the assembly, disassembly and maintenance of EnergySolutions stationary machinery and equipment. Performs routine scheduled maintenance and repairs of broken and malfunctioning machines/equipment. Performs installation and maintenance work as part of a team of skilled trade workers (e.g., plumbers, carpenters, welders and pipefitters).

Job Duties/Tasks/Responsibilities

  • Installs, maintains, upgrades and fabricates machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints and other drawings using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools and power tools. Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures. These tasks are necessary to ensure smooth company operations and to ensure high-quality products and services for EnergySolutions customers.
  • Assembles and installs equipment such as shafting, precision bearings, gear boxes, motors, mechanical clutches, conveyors and tram rails using hoists, pulleys, dollies, rollers and trucks.
  • Bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens machinery/equipment to foundations or other structures using hand and power tools.
  • Constructs foundations for machines using hand tools and building materials such as wood, cement and steel.
  • Aligns machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers and plumb bobs.
  • Operates engine lathes to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
  • Takes measurements to ensure installed machines function at their maximum capacity.
  • Dismantles machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other hand and power tools.
  • Moves machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks.
  • Repairs and lubricates machines and equipment.
  • May lead and direct the work of a Millwright 1.
  • Provides training to Millwright 1 staff as needed and reviews the work of others as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • A minimum of 1 years of experience with the maintenance and repair of heavy industrial equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to perform all types of heavy industrial equipment maintenance and repairs and preventive maintenance tasks and repairs
  • Working knowledge of machine construction, maintenance, and deconstruction
  • Demonstrated ability to operate electronics and computers to diagnose and repair machines

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

  • Heavy Equipment Mechanics: 1 year (Preferred)
