Job Title: MNSure Navigator
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Type: Part-Time (24hrs/ week)
Reports to: Director of Healthy Living
Summary/Objective
The Navigator will provide outreach and enrollment assistance for the MNSure Program and will educate and enroll uninsured individuals and families in insurance options.
Essential Functions
Meets with clients to determine eligibility for insurance and meet their enrollment needs and follow up with MNSure, Minnesota Care, counties and client.
Facilitates plan selection for clients based on the needs of the individual/family seeking health insurance coverage.
Is knowledgeable of health plans in the area.
Maintain accurate data and statistics on program utilization, client demographics, case outcome as needed for reports.
Participates in outreach events to educate area agencies and potential clients about public health insurance and other insurance options available.
Actively participates in training sessions, in-services and meetings to keep informed of program changes and resources offered in the community.
Is an active member of Insure Duluth by participating in meetings, projects and supporting its mission.
Is an active member of the Duluth Area Family YMCA by participating in meetings, projects and supporting its mission.

Supervisory Responsibility
The MNSure Navigator does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
The MNSure navigator will work in an office setting, with a desk, computer, and office equipment. The Navigator will also travel through the southern part of St Louis County.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
The YMCA MNSure navigator will work a combination of morning, afternoons, and evenings. While somewhat flexible, the navigators weekly schedule will depend on the needs to the program participants.
Travel
The MNSure navigator will work and travel between the YMCA at the Essentia Wellness Center, The YMCA Woodland Community Center and The Gary New Duluth Community Center. Some travel will also be required to local community centers in the surrounding area.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in human services or 2-4 years hands on experience working in the field.
Experience with public health care programs or government related programs.
Must possess a current and valid driver’s license.
Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Work, Excel, Office 365, and Outlook.
