The Military Programs and Customer Integration group within CDS is seeking a highly qualified, motivated, and high-energy candidate for the position of Military Development Programs Deputy CIPT for the Modular FADEC . The deputy CIPT Manager is responsible for the technical, project and financial oversight and management of tasks related to control system application software, operating system software, and FADEC HW development and delivery. The deputy CIPT Manager is also responsible for the execution of all program requirements for the FADEC within the technical, schedule and cost budgets agreed to with the program management team.

The position is located at our East Hartford, CT business unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage software and hardware product design, development, validation & certification.
  • Integrate between Modular FADEC CIPT and Military Development Programs CIPT.
  • Lead and negotiate among multi-functional internal and external partners in a fast paced, dynamic environment. (Collins, Cedar Rapids, Embedded and engine systems software).
  • Lead and manage technical, project, business, and product configuration management processes as well as provide expert proficiency with relevant project planning, requirements management, risk management and earned value management tools.
  • Demonstrate technical understanding of engine control system hardware/software design, verification, validation and product support processes.
  • Demonstrate strong computer hardware & software skills.
  • Exhibit teaming abilities together with good written, and oral interpersonal skills.
  • Prepare and manage budget plans.
  • Develop program communications.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience.
  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts.
  • Active US Security Clearance required due to government contracts.
  • Systems Engineering experience
  • Modeling and Analysis, Requirements Analysis and Management.
  • Software Design, Development and Testing.
  • Hardware/Software Integration.
  • Embedded Systems.
  • Wet/Dry control system integration/verification bench and/or engine test.
  • Project planning & management. Proficient with Microsoft office tools (Project, Excel & Access).
  • Experience working with earned value management systems.
  • Demonstrated Teamwork/team building skills.
  • Experience with technical and project/business management of Supplier/Partner relationships.
  • Travel (domestic and international) approximately: 10%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • The candidate must also have a technical understanding of engine control system hardware and a familiarity with the software development process.
  • An ability to lead and negotiate among a multi-disciplined group of people in support of technically challenging trade studies is required.
  • A strong computer hardware & software background is also desired.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and teaming abilities together with good written and oral communication skills are essential.
