About this Role

The Molding Machine Operator position is an important role on the Silgan Dispensing team and is a great opportunity for those looking to advance their skills. Our plant help produce thousands of our dispensing products each day. So, it’s important to keep it running efficiently and continuously. The Molding Machine Operator keeps our equipment operational by setting up, optimizing production runs and performing quality checks as needed for each machine. Here’s a list of duties that our Molding Machine Operator performs on a typical day:

• Maintain specific standards for safety, quality, and productivity
• Operate high-speed assembly equipment
• Verify sensors are functioning properly
• Verify machine is operating at appropriate speed
• Observe and report machine abnormalities to cell leader, mechanic, or supervisor
• Perform various quality inspections (both visual and mechanical)
• Perform machine changeovers
• Requisition materials, fill hoppers, label, and move boxes
• Calculate OEE’s, manual calculation
• Assist machines
• Maintain communication with all team members
• Maintain housekeeping in assigned areas
• Cross-train in the molding department
• Other duties as assigned

Qualified Candidates must have:

• High School Diploma, GED, and/or related work experiences
• Basic math skills
• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions
• Good verbal & written communication skills
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Must be able to work effectively with minimum supervision

Preferred Candidates will have:

• Willingness to assist other cross-functional groups based on needs.
• Ability to work independently and be proactive.
• Ability to analyze, interpret and report data.
• Ability to prioritize work is essential.
• Good oral and written communication skills

Physical Demands (Reasonable accommodations provided):

• Ability to lift and/or move 35 lbs.
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on the production floor.
• Physical requirements include but not limited to sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, stooping, crouching, color determination and grasping.
