Title: Molding Process Specialist

Job Responsibilities::

  • Work with Round Lake, CL project engineering, and Quality engineering to develop new medical device molds in the CL plant.
  • This will include developing and conducting training, writing JIB's, writing SOP's and writing preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Start up and debugging of new injection mold processes.
  • Manage with minimum supervision a variety of projects, within Injection Molding.
  • Work with the Mold Shop to solve tooling problems.
  • Interface with plant and corporate groups as well as contractors and vendors.
  • Work with manufacturing departments on a daily basis to ensure efficient transition between the process development phase, validation, training, and start-up of good production.
  • Develop tools (jigs) for standard equipment checks.
  • Analyze machine failures for root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist in equipment inspections.
  • Recommend improvements in the injection molding area.
  • New Equipment installs - works with engineers, vendors, and equipment suppliers.
  • Involved in safety solutions.
  • Notify the supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality or discrepancy issues occur.
  • Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles.
  • Learn, understand and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
  • Will include working in a Class C or Class D Controlled Environment which may include the following dress/gowning requirements: safety glasses, ear plugs, hairnet, beard cover, isolation mask, gown, hood, boots or shoe covers, face shield, insulated gloves and disposable gloves.
  • Responsible for adhering to all Corporate Quality Procedures.
  • Responsible for adhering to all department SOPs, and forms.
  • Responsible for demonstrating proactive communications and problem resolution.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, Associates degree in a technical related discipline or a BS degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Molding related processes,
  • Processing experience: RJG Systematic Molding, and Mold Master 1 certification is preferred.
  • Must have basic English written and oral communication skills adequate to communicate with other team members.
  • Basic computer skills required. FDA manufacturing experience preferred.
  • The position requires the ability to individually lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend/stoop, squat, climb, reach above shoulder level, reach at or below shoulder level, twist and bend at the neck, twist and bend at the waist and balance.
  • Candidate must meet visual acuity requirements as documented in Client's Cleveland Human Resources Procedure.
  • *Due to the nature of this position, the ability to work most holidays, some weekends and plant shut down periods is required.
