Position Description:

The Recovery Monitor serves as a personal guide, and liaison for individuals with substance use disorders in Holman Recovery Center. The Recovery Monitor supports clients by assisting them with identifying treatment needs, developing, maintaining, and monitoring individual treatment plans, and supporting clients to remain in treatment. The Recovery Technician’s duties include providing outreach, support, recovery check-ups in Holman Recovery Center and in the community and functioning as part of the treatment team. This is a full time (40 hours a week), nonexempt position.

Duties and Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited to:

  • Provides services to individuals, including living skills, case management, and social support.
  • Completes daily record keeping as directed by the Clinical Director.
  • Provides educational groups to help clients regain skills needed to reenter the community and to improve psycho-education related to clients’ needs.
  • Provides oversight to clients during housekeeping, meal service, and various daily activities.
  • Performs related work as assigned, including assisting staff and clients with laundry, dishes, housekeeping, and garbage disposal.
  • Identification of verbal and non-verbal cues for potential aggressive behavior and application of de-escalation techniques to the situation.
  • Performs basic medical tasks, obtaining and documenting vital signs, collecting urine samples, weighing clients, and exhibits a willingness to learn additional tasks.
  • Transports and supervises clients to appointments and activities.
  • Organizes and facilitates specific recreation, physical fitness, and appropriate leisure activities.
  • Provide information to the treatment team to inform treatment decision making.
  • Link clients to available resources in the community post-treatment at Holman Recovery

Center.

  • Assist clients in crisis situations involving social, emotional, health, and other problems.
  • Answers and responds to calls at Holman Recovery Center.

  • The person in this position must be of good character and be suited to meet the physical, mental, emotional, and social needs of the populations served.
  • Must have strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Must understand that substance use disorder is a public health problem and a treatable illness.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism and appropriate boundaries in all interactions.
  • Must have no history or evidence of alcohol or other drug misuse for a period of two (2) years prior to the date of employment at the facility, and no misuse of alcohol or other drugs while employed at this facility.
  • Must not have been convicted of child abuse and / or any crime involving physical harm to another person or been a perpetrator of substantiated child abuse.
  • Should have a desire to work with behaviorally difficult adults.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Possess basic mathematical skills, including ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Education and Experience, Certificates, and Licenses:

Must either hold an associate degree or have a high school diploma with at least one year of experience that is relevant to the primary responsibilities of this position.

Salary and Benefits Package

Salary range commensurate with experience starting at $31,200.

Holman Recovery Center will provide medical, dental, vision benefits and a retirement plan to all employees working at least 40 hours/week.
