The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Dry End Superintendent, the Mill Production Coordinator/Kiln Supervisor will work closely with the production team and Supervisors to ensure that production schedules are created and completed on time, and within budget while following all safety regulations. In addition to coordinating and scheduling of sawmill, planer and kiln production runs, the Mill Production Coordinator will maintain inventory target levels while ensuring shipments are on time while supervising the Kiln productivity, quality and Kiln employees.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the highest standards with respect to safety at all times, leading by example
  • Work with the production team to identify areas of improvement and look for opportunities to reduce cost, while safely meeting production targets
  • Ensure timely action is taken when production and quality targets are not met
  • Coach, train and support team members to maximize performance
  • Foster a culture of open communication with employees in all departments and at all levels
  • Engage all employees to provide valuable input into work processes and systems


Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in the sawmilling industry or other heavy industry
  • Proven supervisory and leadership abilities and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Safe work habits and a working knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Working knowledge of web-based computer applications and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills
