SUMMARY

The Nano System Operator is a part of the manufacturing team responsible for the entire production process of mixing raw material with applicable liquids and processing within various types of equipment to produce the slurry products and development products for use in the electronics and semi-conductor industries and other users.

Materials & Products

  • Utilizes specific knowledge, visual recognition and understanding of key ingredients, (i.e., aluminum oxide, water, acids, alkalais and other specialty chemicals, calcined aluminas, and slurry products) to test particle size distribution, pH levels, percentage of solids and other properties, and to make any subsequent adjustments, (i.e., addition of ingredients or change of process conditions based on characteristics of materials being processed).
  • Responsible for production of product development samples and commercial batches along with small-scale production.
  • Works with R & D to produce product development samples. Understands desired outcome; uses knowledge and experience to set up equipment in order to achieve desired results.
  • Interprets and troubleshoots material and process control data and makes adjustments according to , supervisory / work order instruction, or personal experience.

Equipment

  • Sets-up, runs and monitors multiple kinds of mixing /milling equipment along with other types of slurry processing equipment used in controlling particle size, chemical properties, and other materials properties.
  • Uses analytical equipment, (i.e., Horiba, Malverne) particle size analyzers, pH meters, solids analyzers, and scales along with basic mechanical hand tools.
  • Responsible to calibrate testing equipment, (i.e., solids, PH testing).
  • Utilizes fork trucks and manual handling devices in the movement of equipment and products

Procedures

  • Ensures proper set-up and basic maintenance of equipment and process parameter control for the production of slurries. Measures and records SPC data.
  • Loads feed and dilutes compounds appropriately based on work orders or SOPs.
  • Frequently samples and analyses materials at various in-process and final analysis stages and makes appropriate adjustments.
  • Ensures complex additives are put in proper quantities and in proper sequence. Uses conversion charts for solid content.
  • Cleans machines and equipment and packs slurries in a variety of containers.
  • Packs and ships final product and assists in maintaining proper inventory levels and documentation systems.
  • Conducts daily briefings between incoming and outgoing shift personnel to review and fully understand current operating status and to make judgments about priority of tasks for next shift.

Requirments

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and at least six months related experience and/or training required.
  • Fork truck license preferred.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, percentages, and computer skills associated with data entry.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
