Position in this function is responsible for bleeding disorder customer educational activities and marketing activities involving clinical presentation(s) across the nation with the goal of growing top line revenues and establishing professional clinical expertise in the industry. The National Bleeding Disorder Specialist is responsible for personnel training as well. Customers include physicians, hospitals, clinics, payors, manufacturing companies, UHG/Optum staff, patients and community foundation groups across the nation.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Works in conjunction with Optum Bleeding Disorder sales staff to promotes Optum products and services to physicians, patients, payors and other customers in a geographic territory
- Creates clinical presentations for educational purposes targeted toward patients, medical staff, insurance company representatives and Optum personnel
- Creates clinical educational materials specific to targeted disease state
- Involved in patient chart reviews, evaluating and defining standards of care for bleeding disorder patients
- Serves as SME for various projects, presentations and education within the enterprise
- Supports the sales staff in securing new business and maintaining current customers through customer engagement
- Provides consumer educational services
- Completes required reporting and accounting of time and expenses within the required timeframe
- Represents Optum with local/regional non-profit bleeding disorder organizations as requested
- Be available to travel as job requires
- Identifies new program and new business opportunities for the company
- Works with educational institutions or employers as needed to support meeting healthcare objectives in the home and community
- Conducts pipeline and product information meetings for sales and service staff
- Performs interdepartmental cross training for bleeding disorder disease state and treatment
- Develops educational programming for new bleeding disorder division hires as part of orientation
- Promotes Optum culture by providing quality, comprehensive services to all customers through a team approach
- Marketing assets and educational material development
- Workshop programming
- CE development
- Internal education expansion-division specific
- Support field staff/sales, may include travel to patient events or other collaboration. Travel may be a few times per month, where a few overnight stays may be required each trip
- Provide consumer perspective in projects as needed
- Serve as SME as needed
- Represent company at local/regional/national events as needed
- Other duties may be assigned

Required Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Nursing or higher education completed from an accredited school
- Current and active RN license in good standing in your state of residence
- Experience as a Hemophilia Treatments Center Nurse
- Solid communication and Presentation skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products(Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Teams)

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
