Navy Maintenance Logistics Specialist
Position Summary:
As Navy Maintenance Logistics Specialist, you will provide engineering, technical, and analytical data services to accomplish aircraft carrier maintenance and modernization advance planning, work package development and integration, and work package execution. You will perform analysis for Commander, Naval Air Force Atlantic (CNAL) and assigned ships on supported shore and ship maintenance systems, databases and interfaces. The objective is to maintain and modify support services to improve Navy Tactical Command Support System (NTCSS) and Automated Information System (AIS) to reduce time and expense for maintenance.
As a specialist and SME, you will provide NTCSS and Organizational Maintenance Management System-Next Generation (OMMS-NG) training. You will provide modification to procedures and policies related to maintenance availabilities to improve AIS.
Clearance Required:
- Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Perform analysis for CNAL and assigned ships on supported shore and ship maintenance systems, databases and interfaces.
- Analyze data to ensure validity and accuracy of Current Ship Maintenance Project (CSMP). Conduct CSMP validation and inspections providing recommendations and corrective action.
- Participate in all ILS/3M related conferences directed by CNAL.
- Support modernization efforts including Regional Maintenance & Modernization Command interface, track requirements for CPA Modernization Readiness Assessment (MRA), corrective action for issues with LANT CVN SCDs.
- Develop presentations to support AIRLANT and represent AIRLANT at various conferences and working groups.
- Provide 3M Maintenance Data System support to CNAL during 3M assessments.
- Conduct 3M/NTCSS training for ship's force personnel at all levels.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Vocational/technical training and at least five (5) years of job-related experience or equivalent.
- Navy 3M Coordinator experience
- Excellent communications and analytical skills
- Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Six (6) years of direct work experience in U. S. Navy CVN supported maintenance documentation systems and associated data control processes
- Possess a strong working knowledge of OMMS-NG, RMAIS, NTCSS, MFOM, OARS, RADWEB, CDMD-OA
- Expert knowledge of 3M system regarding Maintenance Data Collection System
Physical Demands and Expectations:
- Up to 25% travel
- Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting
- Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
- Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
