Sabre Systems is activelty looking for a Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) The selected candidate will provide vulnerability analysis, risk analysis, accreditation of systems and audits. Experience supporting the documentation, validation, and accreditation processes necessary to assure that new IT systems meet the organization's information assurance and security requirements.
Familiarity with DoD systems such as eMASS and scanning tools such as Retina or Nessus.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Responsibilities:
- Provide consultation and review of A&A efforts during System Categorization and System Registration in eMASS and DITPR-DON
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the system Security Plan (SP)
- Assist in baseline security control selection, common control selection, overlays, and tailoring efforts
- Support initial POA&M Development and updates based on assessed open vulnerabilities in the initial SAR
- Support the development and maintenance of the Information System Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) Strategy
- Provide the initial Security Assessment Plan (SAP) development and maintenance
- Provide consultation and review during implementation and initial assessment, of approved security controls and overlays
- Support the initiation and finalization of the Risk Assessment Report (RAR) and provide consultation for remediation or mitigation of identified vulnerabilities
- Support the ISSE in completing the RAR Executive Summary
- Execute the approved SAP and perform official testing, assessment and reporting of the implemented security controls
- Initiate the Security Assessment Report (SAR) to identify risks and vulnerabilities and provide the results and updates to the PM/ISO and ISSE
- Support the ISSM in the development of the Security Authorization Package, to include all applicable IA Assessment and Accreditation (A&A) artifacts
- Support discussions and action resolutions during concurrent reviews of the Security Authorization Package
- Assist the ISSE in the documenting a system from an IA perspective using Microsoft Office including MS Word, MS Excel and MS Visio and other appropriate tools.
Qualifications:
- Three (3) years of IT specific experience with the DoD or Navy.
- A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an ACTIVE TOP SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE.
- Certified as IAT Level II or Level III per DoD 8570.01, or successor. When performing as an ISSO or ISSE, an NQV Level II certification per DoD 8570.01, or successor, must be held and maintained.
- If performing as a Privileged User (Individuals who have access to system control, monitoring, or administration functions (e.g., system administrator, IAO/ISSO, system programmers, etc.) a final adjudicated Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with an IT level-1 designation in JPAS must be achieved and maintained.
- 8-10 years of experience in analyzing and securing DoD or Information Technology systems for compliance with specifications, requirements and policies.
- At least 2 years of engineering experience on Combat Weapons Systems with experience in Aegis, SSDS, or Zumwalt combat systems.
- Must have a thorough understanding and knowledge of the RMF process IAW the Navy RMF Process Guide (RPG)
- Must possess an in depth understanding of computer security, military system specifications, DoD IA policies for both Land Based and afloat/tactical systems, and the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in written and oral presentations
- Must be able to pass a background investigation
