Network Administrator - Contract to Hire- Saginaw, MI
Pay Offered: 58-62K
Our exceptional and reputable client has engaged our team in a search for an experienced Network Administrator to join their team. This is a new position opening at our clients site, and is a 6 month Contract role, with the opportunity to hire in DIRECT after the completion of the contract. JOB DUTIES
- Provide technical and administrative support for clients network and systems.
- Maintain hardware and software to ensure network availability to all system users.
- Maintain data integrity, secure network and perform troubleshooting as required.
- Install personal computer hardware and software, provide technical support, and advice to system users.
- Learn and follow procedures and work instructions for IT functions, acquire thorough knowledge of company computer usage policy, and enforce consistently with users.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive company information.
- Secure entire network from both internal and external threats.
- Provide complete network administration for servers and network infrastructure as well as end-user
support. - Install and test LAN equipment and cabling (LAN switches, ethernet cable, etc.)
- Implement updates, upgrades, and patches in a timely manner to limit loss of service.
- Ensure software licensing agreement compliance and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Maintain daily/weekly/monthly backups of all critical information.
- Ensure the system network is fully utilized in the most efficient and effective manner by all users
- Assist in the development and enforcement of policies and procedures related to system and information
management. - Maintain and assist in upgrading systems which may include research and data entry.
- Use the Linux command line to configure system services.
- Maintain and upgrade system software.
- Serve as back up to IT Technician to answer Help Desk and support requests from computer users
- Install computer workstations and peripherals, troubleshoot and repair computers, and computer related
equipment. - Coordinate the purchase of computers and related equipment and supplies with Purchasing.
- Perform audits of computers to ensure compliance with all IT policies and procedures.
- Install and test IP phone networks and phone system hardware (PBX, phones, etc.).
- Provide training to users on phones and phone systems.
- Provide computer training to employees when implementing new technology.
- Work closely with IT Supervisor to address the needs of computer users
- Serve as an active member of the IT Business-Focused Team (BFT) and follow all rules and disciplines of
the BFT process. - Learn and follow procedures and work instructions for IT functions, acquire thorough knowledge of
company computer usage policy, and enforce consistently with users. - Secure entire network from both internal and external threats.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Associates degree in Computer Science
- EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Five years experience working in a computer related field, preferred
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Excellent computer operation and troubleshooting skills in a wide variety of
computer operating system formats - Knowledge of a wide variety of computer hardware and peripheral installations,
operation, and troubleshooting - Knowledge of Windows operating system and Linux operating systems is essential
- Strong oral and written communication skills necessary for building strong interpersonal relationships.
- Ability to patiently and effectively deal with user
frustration and complaints in a professional, courteous manner - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Active listening by giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate
- Critical thinking by using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to performance
- Learn and adhere to all safety precautions of the office and plant.
- Must keep current with applicable safety training, wear personal protective equipment as required by each task, and consistently demonstrate safe work practices.
- Maintain professionalism by role modeling behaviors consistent with the vision, mission, values, and beliefs of the company.

- Applicant must complete the clients employment application process, which includes completing
