UNIVERSAL Technologies is hiring Data Center Network Engineers to assist the City of New York in a major enterprise level upgrade/migration project. Qualified candidates must reside in the EST time zone for the duration of the project.

Position: Provide Senior Level Network Engineering Support as the City of New York upgrades to hyper converged infrastructure. The building of the new Data Center will involve complex application migration and integrations and eventual decommissioning of existing Servers, applications.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

• At least 10-years of experience in network engineering handling the installation, upgrade, migration, configuration, testing and capacity planning in large-scale data center environments
• Extensive experience working with OSPF and BGP protocols
• Must have experience working in Cisco ASI
• Cisco Certification highly desired
• Experience working in large-scale data-center upgrade and migration projects moving from legacy based systems to virtual environments
• Demonstrated understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, Email, HTTP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP protocols and applications.
• Knowledge of industry best practices and strategies related to IT security, server engineering and administration, monitoring, storage, backup, and high availability.

• Results oriented and delivery focused, with proven experience leading infrastructure and engineering tasks.
• Basic networking knowledge including router and switch administration.
• Proficiency with a modern programming/scripting language such as Python or PowerShell.

SCOPE OF SERVICES:

• Responsible for the underlay of new Hyper Converged Infrastructure including OSPF and BGP protocols
• Proven ability providing leadership migrating and upgrading enterprise level data centers from legacy based to modern technologies
• Responsible for migration and configuration of Cisco router/switches, Cisco ASI
• Provide network engineering leadership regarding network integration and upgrade
