We are looking for a creative problem solver who have strong entrepreneurial instincts to help us identify and develop new sources of growth for GFPS Americas. As a Market Research Analyst you will use strategy, analysis and financial modeling to turn innovations into real businesses with long-term viability. You will be working within an eco-system of development teams to identify new opportunities in partnership with the Global New Venture cross-functional team as well as key stakeholders within the Global Georg Fischer Piping System business divisions.

GFPS is a global leader in the design, development, and manufacture of highly-engineered systems and products for numerous industrial and commercial applications. This position supports our Georg Fischer Piping Systems (GFPS) Business Unit of Americas (BUAM).

Key focus markets for our business include future growth and position strengthening in energy, water treatment, urban infrastructures, and building technology.

Your responsibilities Include:

Research, Analysis, & Framing

  • Conducts research projects utilizing strong knowledge of advanced research techniques with our without vendor support
  • Performs market-based research by collecting and interpreting information (e.g., financial, statements, reports, analyses, stakeholder feedback, expert calls) including researching existing business and identifying new spaces for Georg Fischer
  • Analyzes and integrates large amounts of internal and external data (both qualitative and quantitative) to develop strategic and actionable insights and recommendations

Problem Solving & Insight

  • Creates frameworks and methodologies to drive problem solving and insights
  • Synthesizes findings into insights across projects, including implications that inform business decisions
  • Leverages insights to develop recommendations and seeks to provide thought leadership (e.g., trend identification, implications of competitor moves) around potential future growth opportunities and strategic issues for Microsoft
  • Cultivates strong partnerships and working relationships with key stakeholder

Communication: Builds end-to-end storylines and creates outlines across multiple projects Communicates and advocates findings, insights, and recommendations to senior business leaders to facilitate discussions and decision making*

  • Conveys viewpoints through written documents (e.g., memos, reports)and is versatile in designing and conveying compelling presentations
  • Drives and moderates meetings including vetting of and iterating on feedback

Project Leadership Contributes to large Strategy projects and defines and manages small projects (some of which will be ad-hoc) with guidance as needed*

  • Manages projects independently and/or in collaboration with teammates
  • Supports efforts to improve overall research efficiency and effectiveness of the team
  • Manages and builds relationships with research vendors

Qualifications*

  • A curious problem solver who has the ability to bring big ideas to life. You’re creative and scrappy but can navigate a large organization with ease.
  • You have at least 4+ years of corporate strategy or management consulting experience or equivalent experience in a similar role
  • You have 3+ years of experience in Construction Technology, preferred.
  • Able to synthesize/analyze complex and diverse information developing and recommending strategies
  • Solid business acumen ensuring market insights are relevant and practical
  • You daydream new startup ideas in your spare time
  • Prior experience in market segmentation including sizing, pricing, competitive landscape, channel analysis and VOC (voice of customer)
  • Eager to learn and quickly apply new information and skills
  • Ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and complex environments and experience to work across geographies and in an international, multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to toggle between strategic thinking and detail orientation
  • Readiness to roll-up-your sleeves
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field, MBA preferred
