Position Information:
The DC Farmers Co-op is excited to open their new Winston Shell Fuel and Deli Store in the Spring of 2023. Please ONLY apply to this posting if you would like to work at this location shortly before the store opens; candidates will train at the Roseburg, OR location prior to the soft opening projected in the late fall or early spring.

Basic Job Details for Most Positions:
- Greets customers as they enter the location to make them feel welcome.
- Assists customers in locating various products, resolving complaints, and answering questions.
- Responsible for quality customer service, merchandising, distributing department advertisements, re-arranging stock, and assisting with department audits.
- Regularly use point of sale cash registers, electronic scanners, and related equipment to conduct monetary transactions with customers.
- Will requires constant movement of product, attention to detail, punctuality, and ability to work well in a team
Full-Time Store Manager:
- This position is responsible for recruiting and leading both management and staff to provide top rate customer satisfaction in all aspects of the convenience store.
- Must effectively manage staff working inside the convenience store and outside at the fuel islands.
- Maintains compliance with all applicable state and local laws regarding food preparation, alcohol and tobacco sales, labor laws, and the dispensing of fuel.
- Ability to perform all duties of the Deli Clerk and Fuel Attendant positions.
Full-Time Assistant Store Manager:
- This position is responsible for providing support to both management and staff.
- The primary focus revolves around supporting staff with a boots-on-the-ground approach to provide top rate customer satisfaction in all aspects of the convenience store through effective management of employees, staffing, product rotation and preparation.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable state and local laws.
- Ability to perform all duties of the Deli Clerk and Fuel Attendant positions.
Full-Time & Part-Time Deli Clerk:
- Prepare hot and cold items in accordance with all applicable food safety laws.
- Maintain store stocking levels, appropriate product rotation, and organize merchandise in a neat and attractive way to promote sales.
- Monitor merchandise pricing as it is scanned or entered for accuracy and report any discrepancies on transaction balance sheets.
- Processes cash register payments, stamps, coupons, purchases, returns, and exchanges according to store policy.
Full-Time & Part-Time Fuel Attendant:
- Greet all customers upon arrival to fuel station.
- Assist all customers quickly, accurately, and in a friendly manner. · Ask every customer what fuel type they need for their vehicle
- Pump the appropriate fuel in the vehicle
- Remove litter from ground in and around the fuel station and parking lot.
- Empty trash cans.
- Replenish cleaning supplies and register supplies as needed. · Assist store with stocking and rotating merchandise.
Required Skills and Abilities for All Positions:
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to operate available equipment, such as: computers, cash registers, calculators, scanners, fryers, oil filer, grill, beverage machines, and all other food prep related equipment.
- Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, in order to make change and give refunds accurately.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such a s safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Communicate professionally via phone, email, and in-person with customers, staff, and vendors.
- Become knowledgeable about company’s products and services, to make proper recommendations of products and services sold.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with management, co-workers, vendors, and customers in a friendly, open, and approachable manner.
- Must have the ability to adapt to frequent priority changes based on business needs.
Physical Requirements for All Positions:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking
- Bending, twisting, stooping, and kneeling required frequently to rearrange merchandise and verify stock levels.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently
- May need to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements with arms, legs, wrist, and hands over long periods of time.
