The Non-Certified Ophthalmic Assistant in Ophthalmology provides expert professional technical duties; providing direct or indirect care to patients with potential ophthalmic problems; utilizes knowledge of ophthalmology practices, performing diagnostic tests as directed by the ophthalmologist/ optometrist and supervised by senior certified staff member. Perform duties as a scribe during provider exam.

We provide materials to complete a home study course through American Academy of Ophthalmology. Once course is completed, ability to become certified in this field.

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Dedication to patient satisfaction.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work compatibly with physicians and other staff members.
• Must obtain CPR certificate within 30 days of employment.

Preferred:

• Experience as a Nursing Assistant (NA/CNA) , PCA, Optometric Assistant, Optician, Medical Assistant (RMA/CMA), or experience in an ophthalmology or optometric office.
  
  

Employment is contingent on successful completion of drug screen, health assessment, and background check.
