Qualifications:
Previous experience working with students with special needs is preferred.
Must enjoy working with children.
Licensed in the state of PA as a Registered Nurse (preferred; Practical Nurse Required)
Possesses current CPR and First Aid Certifications.
Experience working with feeding tubes is preferred.
Description:
The School District of Springfield Township is seeking candidates with excellent interpersonal skills, the desire to work with energetic students, and the ability to relate well within the school community. The position will coordinate and/or provide necessary health-related services to support the educational programming and physical needs of students in the building. Specifically, this position will be assigned to support one (1) student in the building, including:
- Monitor overall health status and address health related concerns
- Provide tube feeding supports as indicated
- Work with nursing and educational team in supporting ongoing parental communication
- Assist with meaningful participation in classroom and recess activities
- Assist with transitions between classrooms and throughout the school
The individual in the position may also be asked to support all students and complete other assigned tasks as needed when the student is absent or not present in school.
Terms of employment:
10 month position following the SDST District calendar.
