Job description
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant provides high quality medical care to the patients of Towson Orthopaedic Associates (Bel Air location) as a member of the Orthopedic Institute. Performs consultations to new patients and follow up care to established patients in an outpatient setting. On an independent basis, assesses diagnoses and documents findings and makes clinical recommendation’s based on findings to restore patient health. Evaluates and monitors orthopedic patients on the hospital’s floor units after surgery and assist with discharge orders and coordination of care prior to discharge. Writes orders under physician's supervision. Documents findings on appropriate designated forms. Acts as a First Assist in orthopedic surgical cases & makes clinical decisions relative to patient management based on surgeons protocol.
What You Need to Be Successful:
Education
- Master's Degree
Certification / Licensure / Registration
- BLS Certification (Required)
- HCCPA Re-certification exam every six years (Required)
- Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (Required)
- NPs must also be certified as Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) (Required)
Experience and Skills
0 - 1 year Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (Required)
2 - 4 years Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (Preferred)
Required Skills: Strong orthopedic patient management experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills as well as effective written and oral communication skills. Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
