The Psychiatric Access Team at Aurora Mental Health Center (AuMHC) is made up of mental health care providers who are available via telehealth or in person to support to individuals seeking medication evaluations and ongoing care for psychiatric conditions. We are hiring full-time and/or part-time Nurse Practitioners who enjoy providing psychiatric services to a diverse community, collaborate with other professionals, embrace a passion for lifelong learning, believes in resilience, and are committed to the principle of honoring and respecting all persons. The AuMHC Psychiatric Access Nurse Practitioners work collaboratively with a team of other mental health caregivers committed to providing state of the art mental health care to anyone in need, and they also may be charged with the mission of teaching students and other developing professionals.


$10,000 Sign On Bonus Available!
*Not eligible for internal candidates.

Based on full time (40 hours/week). Prorate if less than 40 hours/week. Paid in two installments: 50% on first paycheck, 50% on paycheck following 6-month anniversary.


Salary for this role.

Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE. Salary is also based on years of licensure and company equity.

  • Annually, $115,560 - $144,359


Bilingual Language Differential Pay.
*rate depends on language requirements for the position and candidate's fluency.

  • 5% of base salary up to a maximum of $3,000/year


Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct psychiatric services through the comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning and treatment of patients assigned, on a regular basis. As within the State outlined scope of practice.
  • Assure clinicians in assigned services receive appropriate clinical supervision, as necessary.
  • Work with multidisciplinary staff to evaluate and triage according to level of acuity, as needed.
  • Share 24-hour on call responsibilities with other psychiatrists for residential, outpatient and emergency care, as assigned.
  • Maintain availability by telephone for face-to-face evaluation of emergency patients, as appropriate.
  • Provide utilization review of all patients in continuing care to ensure appropriate medical/psychiatric services are received, as needed.
  • Attend team and other meetings, as necessary.
  • Provide consultation with staff on patient care and difficult cases, as needed.
  • Understand and comply with organizational goals around quality, compliance, standards, and policies.
  • Complete required education and training in a timely manner.
  • Accurately and completely document patient care. Provide information to credentialing, payroll, etc. in a timely manner
  • Staff member will monitor and coordinate care for assigned clients in partnership with the other members of the clients care team.

About you.

The ideal candidate has a strong knowledge base of psychopharmacology and critical thinking skills and has the ability to learn, adapt and grow. In addition, they should be passionate about treating patients with diverse cultural backgrounds and a range of symptom severity including patients on the severe end of the psychiatric spectrum. Finally, great interpersonal skills are essential for working in multi-disciplinary teams, in collaborating with colleagues, working with patients, and helping to educate trainees.


Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Nursing with Prescriptive Authority
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry.
  • Current Colorado NP license in good standing with State.
  • Certified as an advanced practitioner of nursing by Colorado State Board of Nursing.
  • Valid and Current DEA.
  • Current knowledge of pharmacology.
  • Ability to administer medications and injections.
  • Knowledge of diagnoses and theoretical issues related to clinical treatment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn/utilize electronic health record.
  • Treatment philosophy consistent with managed care principles.


Required Vaccinations and TB Test.

AuMHC has prioritized the health and safety of our clients and staff and requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, receive an annual influenza (flu) shot, and receive negative TB test results prior to their first day of hire. Proof of both vaccinations and negative TB test will be required upon your first day of employment. Medical and religious exemptions may be requested for either COVID 19 vaccine or annual flu shot.
