Job Description:

Responsible to perform basic patient care activities and procedures for patients based on current standards of practice under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Supports the organization vision and mission. Utilizes knowledge of patient’s age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care.

5. Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes.
6. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
7. Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
8. Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of a Nurse Technician.

Required Experience:

A. Work Experience
Direct patient care experience in hospital setting preferred.

B. License/Registration/Certification
Current CPR Training Program.

C. Education and Training
1. High school graduate or equivalent required.
2. Meets one of the following criteria:
a. First year of a two-year nursing program (including Medical/Surgical rotation and currently enrolled in a nursing program, or
b. Completion of the 5th semester of a four-year nursing program and currently enrolled in a nursing program, or
c. Certificate of completion from a U.S. or foreign school of nursing with proof of acceptance for the NCLEX-RN exam.

NOTE: The NCLEX-RN exam must be passed within 6-months after graduation. Failure to pass the NCLEX-RN exam twice within six months will result in demotion to a Nursing Assistant position regardless if the six-month period has not expired.
