The School of Communication Sciences and Disorders is especially interested in candidates with medical office experience, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to accuracy who can work in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and possess good communication and customer service skills.

Job Duties

Duties & Responsibilities
Communicates with and assists patients and clients of the Memphis Speech &Hearing Center with check-in, check-out, and registration procedures. Verifies insurance, benefits and notifies the clients.

Duties & Responsibilities
Schedules appointments, coordinates schedules of all involved parties(clients/patients, clinicians, student clinicians and/or interpreters), completion of referrals and charts prior to appointments.

Duties & Responsibilities
Works with clinical partners (e.g., Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare representatives) to make sure that all charges are posted, insurance is verified ,and payments are posted correctly. Liaison with clinical partner to assist clients with billing issues.

Responds to insurance company requests for information, mails and faxes medical records as necessary. Must follow HIPAA guidelines.
