Hiring range is $12.852-$18.043/hour. Pay rate may be commensurate with education and/or experience within fiscal constraints, if approved.

PLUS an additional $3/hour facility differential for hours worked.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 0800-1630

Examples of Work

TSCI has a position which provides administrative support to the Deputy Warden and other Administrative staff. Disseminates information in person, by telephone, email, or correspondence pertinent to the activities of the Deputy Warden to provide requested responses and data to written inquiries, visitors, agency employees, and others. Creates and modifies manual and electronic filing and record keeping systems to ensure availability of necessary information and confidentiality of the material. Records, enters, and/or posts information on forms or tables, logbooks, spreadsheets, or databases to maintain a record of the activities or transactions. Types, enters, and scans narrative, numerical, and/or statistical information from rough draft and/or revised typed draft, documents, electronic communications, or voice recordings to facilitate the processing or documenting of information. Reviews and sends hard copy and electronic mail, form letters, and material relying on established correspondence guidelines and/or supervisory instructions to determine the nature of the request for information pertinent to the TSCI procedures, operations, and priorities. Takes and transcribes minutes and dictation from meetings to facilitate the processing of correspondence and/or to ensure that information and topics discussed at meetings are recorded. Operates office equipment such as personal computer, printer and scanning equipment, calculator, facsimile machine, multi-line telephone system, and associated software. Searches for, compiles, and summarizes material from manual and electronic files, documents, electronic communications, and non-agency sources to meet the information needs of the Deputy Warden and facility employees. Orders office supplies and equipment to maintain the office inventory. Check and file/retrieve correspondence, records, reports, and other information using manual and electronic files/databases arranged in alphabetical, numerical, chronological, subject matter, and/or random access order to facilitate the identification, processing, and/or filing/retrieval of these materials, and/or the control of databases or similar archives.

Qualifications / Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: Coursework/training or experience in public contact, customer service, and/or performing and applying office/clerical support procedures, including the use of a personal computer, associated software, and office equipment.

PREFERRED: Experience in Microsoft Office, database systems, operation of basic office equipment, mail processing practices and procedures, and operation of multi-line switchboard.

OTHER: Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam, and at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
